Distraction Incident in Blackwater

An elderly female sitting in her car was approached by a man and a woman who were asking for directions. As she assisted with the request, a male entered her car from the passenger door and took items from her handbag that had been left on the passenger seat.

This type of distraction theft is becoming more and more common in the north of Hampshire and it mainly happens in supermarket car parks.

Please be cautious about personal belongings when being approached and asked questions in this kind of manner. Keep handbags and other valuables hidden and locked away if you are leaving your vehicle.

Please report any suspicious activity immediately.
